Ok, great. I agree with your proposal.
I would be happy to copresent it.
Thanks,
Cédric

2009/6/5 Sebastian Benthall <seb@opengeo.org>

I did what Mark Leslie proposed and resubmit our earlier workshop
proposal as a presentation. The plan would be to build an application
in a short amount of time from GeoExt as an introduction to its
potential.

Copresenters are welcome.

I like your tags better, and the use of the URL in the abstract. If
you don't mind I'll edit them in now to match your proposal.

I'll also be on IRC today if you want to discuss this there.
Title: Building a web mapping application with GeoExt

Abstract: GeoExt is a JavaScript library that provides a groundwork
for creating web-mapping applications. As a practical introduction to
GeoExt, this presentation will walk through how to build a simple data
browsing application using the building blocks GeoExt provides.

GeoExt combines the web mapping library OpenLayers with Extjs, “a
cross-browser JavaScript library for building rich internet
applications.” GeoExt provides a suite of customizable widgets and

data handling support that makes it easy to build applications for
viewing, editing, and styling geospatial data.

After a brief introduction to the range of applications that can be
built with GeoExt, we show how to use basic JavaScript to build a web
application that includes: an application UI panel that contains a
configurable map of geographical data; a UI widget that displays and
manages the layers of data on a map; a widget for browsing WMS layers
from a server and adding them to a map; and more.
