[Users] Base Layers disappear on tree collapse

hi all,

I recently added an additional base layer to a map I've been creating 
and now when the page loads the first collapse of the Base Layer Tree 
causes the maps to be removed. After toggling back and forth between the 
base layers the behavior is no longer present. Any idea what may be 
causing this? I am missing a setting or is it my lack of JS knowledge?
