Hello,
I teste the solution adding this to my web:

		var selectControl = new OpenLayers.Control.SelectFeature(
			[polygonLayer, pointLayer,lineLayer],
			{
				clickout: true, toggle: false,
				multiple: false, hover: false,
				toggleKey: "ctrlKey", 
				multipleKey: "shiftKey"		}
		);
		map.addControl(selectControl);
		selectControl.activate();
		
		polygonLayer.events.on({
			"featureselected": function(e) {
				panelPoligonos.expand(true);
				panelPuntos.collapse(true);
				panelLineas.collapse(true);				
			},
			"featureunselected": function(e) {}
		});
		
		pointLayer.events.on({
			"featureselected": function(e) {
				panelPuntos.expand(true);
				panelPoligonos.collapse(true);
				panelLineas.collapse(true);							
			},
			"featureunselected": function(e) {}
		});
		
		lineLayer.events.on({
			"featureselected": function(e) {
				panelLineas.expand(true);
				panelPuntos.collapse(true);
				panelPoligonos.collapse(true);

It worked perfectly but some tools are now not working.
All feature editing tools are not working (delete point, move point, ...)
So I don’t know why this happens and how to solve, or if there is any other way to do the feature highlighting without breaking the editing tools...

Mario,

You could define your layer object as a Vector layer and defining a WFS 
protocol to it. Here's an example [1]. Simply look a the source.
