[Users] How can I format the text in a scalecombo or add predefined scales?

Hi,

I would like to add a scalecombo but am unsure about how to format the text in 
the combo box. At present the first scale in the list show "866688.0326643361".

I obviously don´t want to show a scale to 10 decimal places. Can anyone tell me 
how I could reduce the scale to = decimal places or even better predefine the 
scales.
I would ideally like to have 1:1 000, 1:10 000, 1: 50 000 1: 100 000, and 1: 1 
000 000 . I find people are able to relate to such predefined scales better than 
866688.0326643361
 or  13542.000510380252.
