[Users] custom script dependencies

Hi,

After spending the most of this week reading about optimization of web apps I
started compiling custom scripts for openlayers, GeoExt.js and Ext.js.

As this is the GeoExt forum i´d like to ask if there is a list/App which I can
use firstly to check which libraries are actually being used in my applications
and if there is anything to give an indication of which dependencies there are.

I found the trial and error method of compiling all three API's incredibly time
consuming and frustrating due to the fact that one can never be sure if the app
will work after the custom build. This means the normal routine would be

1. build new script
2. copy script into directory
3. debug app ( which entails testing every single function/tool/combination of
function calls built into the map)
4. repeat step 3 for IE6. IE7. IE8. IE9, Firefox 3, Firefox4, Firefox5, Chrome,
Opera

There must be some programming guru who has thought about this already, or am I
just doing it wrong. I would assume that most people are pretty happy with the
long loading times.....but having to wait up to 30 seconds for an app to load in
IE is not acceptable web practice.

(btw. Why is IE soooo slow?)

yours

Rob
