[Users] How to set the opacity slider with the current active layer ?

I do it via a contextmenu - right click on layer in tree and menu comes 
up with options including an opacity slider.

However, a right-click is not a natural action in a web application and 
I am considering modifying the layer tree to add a tiny button to the 
end of layer title, visible on mouseover, to put the menu on. Sadly, not 
yet coded.
